Spinach
Bloomsdale, Long Standing 5.00G
A richly flavored spinach that is slower to bolt than other Bloomsdale types. Thick, crinkled, dark green leaves make it a favorite with gardeners everywhere. High in vitamins A, C and the B-complex. Packet will plant approximately a 34 foot row.

45 days to harvest after transplanting. Harvest entire plants at soil line when outer leaves are 6 inches long or just cut away outer leaves as needed for continuous crop until hot weather. Sow again in late summer.

The greens are an excellent source of vitamin A and a good source of vitamin C and calcium. Hakurei produces extremely uniform roots with snow white skin and crisp flesh. The mild taste makes it

excellent for salads. Tops can also be used as greens for salads or cooking. Easy-to-grow variety. Harvest can be done anytime after roots reach 2 inches in diameter. Best if harvested before 3 1/2 inches in diameter. 40 - 60 days to harvest after transplanting. Oriental turnip roots can become woody if they are allowed to grow too large. To harvest, loosen soil around base of leaves, then grab tops and pull.

This long time favorite is the most popular turnip for table use. The white flesh of its root is firm and fine-grained and has a mild, sweet flavor. Most tender when roots are 2 to 2 1/2 inches in diameter. Packet will plant approximately a 200 foot row.

55 days to harvest after transplanting. Turnip roots become woody if they grow over 3 inches in diameter. To harvest, loosen soil around base of leaves then grab tops and pull.
