Ferry-Morse Tomatillo Seed, Purple Ferry-Morse Tomatillo Seed, Purple Packet Back

Tomatillo Seeds
Purple
250MG

This is a uniquely colored tomatillo that is enjoyed for its sweet, yet tart, flavor. The plant itself provides a little visual flare with its striking purple-veined leaves. The small fruit forms inside papery husks that begin green then ripen to a deep rich purple. This is a vigorous and highly productive tomatillo. The fruits are great grilled, in salsa, or as taco toppings.

Start seed indoors in a sunny location or under fluorescent grow lights 6 weeks prior to warm weather. Transplant outdoors in full sun when seedlings display 4 to 6 leaves and weather is warm. Seed can be sown directly into garden when soil is warm. Cannot tolerate frost.

Germination in 7 to 10 days. 75 - 85 days to harvest after germination. To keep fruit clean and easier to pick, support plants with stakes or cages if necessary. Best time to pick for salsa is when husks are brown and begin to open.
