This early variety is easy to grow. It has a trailing habit that should be supported by a trellis. Resistant to cold weather. The pods are best when approximately 26 inches long. Great for stir fry or salads. 50 days to harvest from transplanting, 6-8 days to germination.

Avoid working around beans when wet; this may spread diseases. When weeding, hoe gently because beans are shallow rooted. Mulch plants only after thinning.

A very hardy, early hybrid variety. Resistant to cold weather. The fruit has a long, straight shape about 14 inches long with a green rind. Average weight per fruit is 7 ounces. 50 days to harvest from transplanting, 7-10 days to germination.

Plant cucumber seeds only after all danger of frost is past and ground is warm. They need lots of sunshine and water. Keep weeds to a minimum with a straw or leaf mulch.

Pak Choi, Bonsai Hybrid

With its erect plant habit, Bonsai Hybrid is perfect for high density plantings. The short, compact plants have a uniform vase-like shape. Excellent choice for "baby" pak choi production. 40-45 days to harvest after germination, 10-14 days to germination.

Excellent in stir-fry dishes. Plant at 2 week intervals in spring and late summer for almost constant supply. Keep soil moist and well fertilized.

This pure white radish has a very smooth root that is tender and has little pungency. Often seen in Chinatown markets, Minowase has a unique taste and has brittle juicy flesh. Disease resistant. 45-58 days to harvest after germination, 7 days to germination.

Radishes are best in flavor when grown in full sun and cool weather. For mildest flavor, mulch and keep well watered.

These flat pods on compact plants but branch out very well and produce pods 3 1/2 inches. They are tender and very delicious. Perfect addition to stir-fry. Disease resistant. 65-70 days to harvest after germination, 8-12 days to germination.

When harvesting peas, do not jerk pods from vines since rough handling can cause plants to stop producing. It's best to snip clusters of pods from vines with scissors or pruners.

Spinach, Round Leaf

An early variety with large leaves approximately 12 inches tall and 4 inches wide. Round Leaf Spinach is great for cooking in stir-fry and adds texture to salads. 60 days to harvest after germination, 8-10 days to germination. Cool weather vegetable.

Harvest entire plants at soil line when outer leaves are 6 inches long or just cut away outer leaves as needed for continuous crop until hot weather. Sow again in late summer.
