Organic Basil
Genovese 250MG
Annual herb. This large leaf type originated in Italy where it was selected for its flavor in making pesto. These productive plants belong in every herb garden. Easy to grow. Use leaves fresh or dry for seasoning. Great for a dramatic background.

Organic Basil

Annual herb. The leaves of this attractive herb have a spicy flavor which makes green salads, tomato and cheese dishes, soups and omelets extra delicious. The entire plant has a pleasing aroma. Good companion for tomato plants. Remove flower buds

to encourage leaf growth. Begin harvesting all but 2 or 3 leaves at the base of each branch before flowers bloom. Preserve leaves by drying or freezing.

Organic Chives 840MG
Perennial herb. The hollow, thin leaves have a delicate flavor much like very mild onions. Delicious in salads and for flavoring soups and omelets. Because of the plants attractive cloverlike blossoms, they are often used for edging flowerbeds. Continual harvesting ensures denser growth. If you prefer a very mild taste, harvest while in bloom. Excellent for indoor windowsill garden.

Organic Chives
Garlic (Allium Tuberosum) 440MG
Perennial herb. Distinguished by white ball-shaped flowers which grow in clusters above the tips on the spear-like flat leaves. Clip leaves for use as seasonings in salads, cheese and egg dishes, gravies and soups for a delicate onion or garlic flavor.

For fresh supply for winter, bring clumps indoors in containers. Usually used fresh but can be preserved by drying or freezing. Excellent for indoor windowsill gardens.

Organic Cilantro / Coriander 2.25G
Annual herb. The plant is Cilantro while the seeds are Coriander. The leaves have a distinctive flavor and are used as a garnish in salads and soups. The seed is used in meat and seafood dishes, as well as a condiment for flavoring bread, cookies and cakes. Harvest seeds in late summer by cutting seed heads

when ripe. Spread seed heads on trays to dry in the sun. Thresh by hand and store in jars. The seeds odor dissipates in storage.

Organic Dill
Bouquet 1.60G
Annual herb. An easy-to-grow herb. Green or dried seed clusters are used primarily in making dill pickles. Fresh young leaves are used for flavoring salads, soups, meat and fish. The plant is highly aromatic and bears large, yellow flower heads.

Harvest leaves just as the flowers open. To preserve leaves, dry them slowly at 100 degrees F. For seeds, hang clusters in warm, dry place with tray beneath to catch seeds.

Organic Oregano
(Origanum Vulgare) 150MG
Perennial herb. This bushy plant produces leaves that are an essential ingredient in Italian and Spanish dishes. Also used in salads, stews, stuffings, egg and cheese dishes, and with fish. Similar to Marjoram but with sharper fragrance and flavor.

Encourage foliage by removing flowers as they appear. For drying, cut just before flowers open. Oregano will thrive as a potted plant.

Organic Parsley

Biennial herb. Highly decorative, both in the garden and for garnishing. Use leaves in salads, casseroles and omelets. Sweetens breath after eating onions or garlic. Parsley's flavor improves with successive cuttings. For later use, freeze leaves or dry them

in the shade. Interplant parsley with roses and tomatoes to enhance vigor of both. Soak seeds overnight in warm water to speed germination.

Organic Sage
Broad Leaf 960MG
Perennial herb. The most popular of all herbs for seasoning because of its mildly pungent flavor and pleasant aroma. May be used fresh or dried in stuffing and pork or cheese dishes. The attractive plant can be used for gray accents in the flower

garden. Cut flowers when they have just opened and the scent is the strongest. Dry on screen in shade. Excellent in flower arrangements.

Organic Thyme
Common (Thymus Vulgaris) 230MG
Perennial herb. The leaves have a marked, but agreeable aroma and pungent flavor. They are used fresh or dried for seasoning clam chowder and other fish soups, as well as stews, sauces and meat dishes. Thyme is noted for attracting bees.

For drying leaves, cut entire plant to 2 inches above ground just before it flowers in early summer. Dry leaves in the shade. Thyme will thrive as a potted plant.

Organic Sunflower

Summer annual. Stately sunflowers with enormous heads, more than 1 foot across, provide spectacular beauty first, then seeds for roasting or birdfeed. Each plant bears one huge, eye-catching bloom. Easy to grow. Kansas state flower.

Excellent for tall blooming backgrounds and screens for unsightly places. Harvest seed by cutting flower heads when backs yellow, then hang downward in a warm dry place.
